It has been a little warmer than typical the past few days so the desert has greened up and the flowers are blooming. When Howard and I hiked Shaw Butte yesterday I took the camera to chronicle the lushness of it all. For those of you from normally green areas your reaction would probably be, "Haven't you guys ever seen leaves before?" but around here this is almost tropical.
The picture above is an Ocotillo. Most of the time they don't look like that! Flowers were in bloom but most were just buds so when they all open it
should look spectacular.
There were even a few guys hang gliding off of the mountain.
